Lydia McWherter is a Korean-American brand and graphic design professional working in Denver, Colorado. As a first-generation college graduate, Lydia dedicates her career to honoring her parents' sacrifices for her education and life.
After graduating with a degree in Communication Design from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in 2011, Lydia began her freelance design career, working on diverse projects for small businesses and startups in Colorado. In 2012, she joined Aimco, a nationally recognized multi-family company, as a contract graphic designer. Her role expanded in 2013 when she became a Marketing Coordinator at Lewis Roca law firm, where she had the opportunity to expand her skillset in marketing and her strategic thinking and creativity flourished. In 2015, Lydia pursued a graphic design role at PorchLight Real Estate Group, which ignited her passion for design and marketing in the real estate industry.
She joined Oakwood Homes in 2017 as a graphic designer and quickly advanced to Senior Graphic Designer in 2019, Creative and Brand Manager in 2020, and now serves as the Director of Brand and Creative. Lydia is a cancer survivor and is dedicated to living her next phase of life with zest, passion, purpose, and hope. She has helped raised funds for Endometrial Cancer Research and participates in cancer awareness events in Colorado. She believes her work and career is only one aspect of her life, and life is meant to be lived and fulfilling while pursuing all passions. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being with her family and friends, reading, exploring coffee shops and restaurants, spending time with her two dogs, meditating, and being in nature.
